Year 2000 Astrological Event Forecasts

by Joshua Hayward

When Deadly Buda asked me to do this article, which I now see as essential to the publication of Deadly Type #2, I had begun to do a piece on the Columbine massacre and it seemed more important than a “when to party” manual. Then he proceeded to point out to me that the rave and wildstyle hardcore scene can be something of a preventative measure for that sort of violence which is raging like a plague among youth of today’s America.

Gatherings, I now see, provide alternatives in both activity and philosophy. So I eventually came to, in my own terms, the significance of the piece: to delineate an intentional sequence of healing vibrations on the planet to be enacted in a ritualistic manner totally updated in the form of these highly charged, energetic gatherings. In another Age, rites of renewal in temples of the Goddess and in sacred power sites all over the Earth were held on a regular basis: so, why not rekindle the tradition and make it new? I tend to look at the gatherings and parties we are suggesting in DT#2 as an opportunity to set up frequencies for change on the Planet Earth, and not without a chance for plenty of fun along the way! So, here are some dates with delineation of intended vibrational frequencies, or in plain English, some dates to get down with, and what they are about. Columbine can wait.

I would be remiss in my duty as a diviner if I failed to mention the total solar eclipse of August 11 of this summer, 1999. Astrologers have already been writing about it, so let me get in on it by saying right out that a party at this time is not for the faint of heart. The eclipse is in Leo, which rules the heart, by the way. What is scary about this upcoming configuration of the Sun and Moon is that they will fall in aspect to three other planets, Mars, Saturn, and Uranus, and hence form what is known as a Grand Cross, or Grand Square. A party at this time might develop the nature of a statement of defiance and hence attract opposition. But there may be some hardy ones out there of you, so I say go for it- if you dare! My prediction for that day, or possibly within a week or so thereafter, is a stock-market fiasco perhaps worse than last August. Natural disasters are very likely, and yes, war on some sort of new level. Get it? You think of a few variables on your own: they are likely, too. The station of Venus in the sign of Virgo to go retrograde two days after the preceding Lunar Eclipse of July 28they always come in pairs- signifies love and healing as an intent, even if things get to looking ugly. Please do not misunderstand what I am about to say, but these huge tragedies that are proliferating so grotesquely as to almost deaden one’s sensibilities are not really tragedies at all, they are reflections or outpicturings for the need to change the way we relate with the Earth. Let me explain by saying this is a creative plane on which we live and generally people are not accountable for what they are creating because they do not know they are doing it.

Destruction is the shadow, or flip, side of creativity, and the Mother, in Her diverse and startling ways, is mirroring back humanity’s destructive misuse of the Earth as a venue for life. When the Mother speaks, even the stars hear! And remember now, in my Y2K article in the last Issue I said that we have some 2000 years worth of Piscean garbage to take out, so.... we shall see what happens. I myself am planning to go off to one of my power spots to meditate and pray for healing change, and for your safety.

Now let me back up and suggest July 28, with its partial Lunar Eclipse- check local listings for the time- as the best choice for that month. The theme would best be “creative self-expression”. Let me suggest exhibits, possibly interactive art pieces, walk-through installations and the like. Individual expression of Spirit shared with the many. This Eclipse is conjunct Neptune within 2 degrees of Aquarius, and Neptune is the planet of deep Spiritual connection, whereas Aquarius is the ruler of both parties and friends. We need this type of gathering happening all over the world, or at least wherever possible, so friendships can be founded and grounded for the rocky ride out of the 20th century. Midsummerish, this promises to be a great outdoor fling.

A lesser choice for August in terms of intensity, but meaningful nonetheless, would be Wednesday, August 25. Jupiter stations (a time when a planet, from our perspective on Earth, seemingly stops going one direction and reverses in its orbit: a time when that planet’s influence intensifies greatly, and often shifts tend to happen in our common experience) on the above date in a difficult angle to Neptune called a square. In addition, the Moon is conjunct (in the same designated space as) Uranus in Aquarius, calling out for gathering and connection. The general tenor of this square of Jupiter to Neptune seems to suggest a dream sharing party, or a party with a “dream theme”. To prepare, if you are interested in freedom, sum up the dreams you have had that are unrealistic, and come up with some new shit. Think of what your Spirit might want for you. Share it tonight. Let the music be dreamy......

For the month of September, the 11th is an interesting date. Venus stations-which proportionately happens very seldom and is therefore significant- this time in Leo to go forward again to Virgo where it was during the Eclipses aforementioned. It stations on a square to Saturn, and this aspect means loneliness. Sometimes the cause of this universal dis-ease is the inability to give of the self; hence the giving and receiving of love is hindered. So what I am proposing is a ‘Lonely Heart’s Club’ party. What I mean is go to the party prepared to open up your heart to an experience of letting go the broken heart and choosing something else. Ecstasy. You have my permission to get rowdy! Cry, laugh, and scream. Intend for connection to happen.

The other September date to mention is Friday the 24th. The Sun is now in Libra and Mercury, the planet of communication and connection, is on a trine (an angle of dynamic relationship) to Uranus. This is a time when ideas can flow freely in acceptance. This is a time when personal ideas and Universal ideas are in harmony. You do the spiritual math.

In October of the last year of the century and of perhaps the Millennium, the first party is proposed for the New Moon on the 9th of the month. This New Moon is in the sign of Libra, so the theme suggested is “finding harmony in diversity”. Different types of music should be played. Different DJ’s doing their own diverse styles. They should be listened to and appreciated, at least intentionally so, and the topic of discussion should naturally turn to the philosophy of hardcore from the divergent styles. Jupiter in the sign of Taurus is opposing Mercury in the sign of Scorpio will make any discussion go deep and heavy, but the New Moon in Libra, the sign of balance and relationship, will keep things orderly, hopefully. For a one shot only, substances are discouraged.

Next, Saturday the 23rd through Monday the 25 is a good block of time. I suggest a gathering for the duration, culminating in the Full Moon on Monday in the sign of Taurus. The Moon will intensify greatly during this period building to the Monday climax. This lunar energy will be highly amplified by a stationing Uranus on Saturday, so this is a powerful time all the way through. The type of music should be the wildest wildstyle, if you ask me. Do not bother talking much: dance wildly all the way, have plenty of food and wine, and proceed with as much great, satisfying sex as you can humanly stand. Such may be billed as an “anti-repression” gathering. Flush your Prozac, and get ready to feel. Worthwhile substances, on the other hand, are encouraged.

Mercury goes retrograde through through much of November, so plans and execution of gathering are subject disruption. Also, Mars is on a bigtime square to Jupiter in the signs of Capricorn and Aries, respectively. Such cannot help but represent a clash between an assertive, or aggressive, authority and an idealistic, overly enthusiastic individualism. I would wait until later on in the month, say Friday the 26th, when Mars moves out of the square and into the sign of Aquarius, conjunct Neptune, and the Moon is in Cancer. The combination of said elements will soften the tensions, and the Heat will have too many other things to worry about at that time. The Sun will be conjunct Chiron, the wounded healer, in its exalted sign, Sagittarius, so this party, which could go on and pick up energy along the way all through the weekend, so the suggested theme is a “pre-Y2K” look. Hey, we’re almost there, so let us start thinking that way. Sagittarius is an elevated consciousness, and Chiron here is beginning to tell us to allow our suffering now to uplift us because it awakened us, rather than wallowing in victim-consciousness. Where we are wounded we may find our greatest gift if we can but transform it. During this gathering, let us uplift each other, not tear down rivals or be a bummer in any way.

Only one date in December draws my attention at all, and that is Saturday the 18th. There is a huge T-square, which is a Grand Square only without one part of it, being formed by Venus,

Saturn, and Uranus with Mars conjunct. Here is a great build up of tensions in sexual energies and a smoldering strain in male/female relations ready for release. A powerful “fire” trine between the Sun and the Moon conjunct to a stationing Jupiter, along with a conjunction of Mercury, Pluto, and Chiron in Sagittarius, allows all energies to be released in dynamic and relatively healthy ways. In this gathering improved male/female relations seems to be the point. Whatever level you deem appropriate, well, is.

I am not going to advise anyone on a New Year’s Eve party. Hey, its Y2K: anything can and will happen, I imagine. Most people won’t worry about the computer thing until the hangover wears off, anyway. So let me move on to January 21st, on which there is a Total Lunar Eclipse in Leo, conjunct the North Node of the Moon, or the “Soul direction of the times”. Conscious Creativity through Inspiration of the Spirit is the theme that jumps out at me. Magical thinking. At this time, wicked, wild, and wonderful ideas are likely to pour through, so this gathering is a vision-sharing on both creative and business levels.

On Saturday, February 5, comes the paired Solar Eclipse in Aquarius in which the Sun and Moon line up with Uranus. This can be a very lively party with a theme of liberty and freedom. Continue the theme of February 5.

I am moving on because Mercury goes retrograde again in the latter part of the month of February, and nothing else jumps out at me until the weekend of the 17th-19th of March. The stationing of Pluto and a Full Moon in Virgo, along with the Sun, Mercury, and Venus in Pisces, makes for a deep, fluid, healing time. Mars in Aries adds spice and zestiness to a night that could be deemed one of “open mystery”. Rock the whole weekend, please.

I am seeing April of 2000 as a month with surprisingly little to offer in the way of parties. There are no stationing planets, with the exception of Chiron, but even with that there is nothing significant enough in the stars happening for a good party. The North Node of the Moon changes signs from Leo to Cancer, it should still be noted. Such is an inward turning, as a “planetary intent”. Trusting the unconscious and the unknown now becomes an 18month theme, along with considering Earth as the true home we need it to be. Perhaps it is best this month to turn inward and contemplate a pause and refresh kind of thing. The energies are at this point building up for next month’s intensity.

May is the big month of Y2K (see my article, Issue#1) because of an alignment of 7 planets in Taurus on May 3rd and the exact conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on the 28th. I am suggesting a full week party from Mayday through Sunday, the 7th, with special emphasis on Wednesday, the 3rd. Venus rules Taurus, so I suggest a lavish “goddess” oriented party with sumptuous meals, wine, and orgies. The Earth as a “feminine entity” needs to be honored at this time, and those of us who wish to remain in human form for any length of time should make a pact of joyful service to seal the deal with good intentions. A lot is going to be shaking between this time and 2012, so let’s get in good standing, eh? Spare no extravagances, and be prepared to play your role in the changing times.

June is always the month of the Summer Solstice, which I always find a delicious time since I am a summer child. Since the exact day is found in the middle of the week, I suggest Friday and Saturday nights, the 23rd and the 24th, respectively, for gatherings and parties, small or large, indoors or out. The Sun is conjunct Mars and Venus in the sign of Cancer, so there is a homey, very personal feel. At this time, remember the North Node of the Moon has shifted to Cancer, so on this weekend be sure to personalize your relationship with the planet. Another party for this month, briefly, would be the Full Moon in Sagittarius on the 16th/17th of the month. Mars and Venus are conjunct the Sun and, of course, opposite the Moon, so this should be a lively weekend, replete with intense discussions and plenty of male/female type of sparks flying around, if you know what I mean.

July 2000 is very important because there is another pair of eclipses happening on the 1st and the 16th. The Solar Eclipse on the 1st is conjunct Mars exactly, and is significantly close to Venus, once again in the sign of Cancer. Mercury is also in Cancer-and, remember, the NN of the Moon, as well. This grouping, or stellium in Cancer, working with the ecliptical power, is an ordained time to honor Earth as a Home. Perhaps a showing of Blue Planet or other films demonstrating planetary beauty might be in order. Music should be watery, flowing, emotional. In fact, emotional attunement with the Earth should be the theme.

The Lunar Eclipse on the 16th of July in the Sign of Capricorn is an important follow-up. We must call for a new structuring of government and society in lieu of our recent attuning with the environment. I suggest an honorable dismissal of the Patriarchy which the Age of Pisces generated. We shall not be entirely rid of them that control due to a fearsome lack of real understanding, but let us hasten them along their way to oblivion: their day is near past.
